“Intimate Expressions” will feature the poetic landscapes, seascapes and portraiture of the late Washington artist Jack Boul in a show curated by his Emmy award-winning son.
Boul’s work is included in the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, the San Francisco Museums of Fine Arts, along with many other public and private collections.
Although well-known in the nation’s capital from his retrospective at the Corcoran Museum and Stanford University’s DC art gallery, this will be his first showing in California.
"Jack Boul's art lingers in the memory like a fragment of a melody,” wrote Paul Richard, Washington Post Art Critic.
This exhibition at Gallery 169 will feature more than 50 of his oil paintings and one-of-a-kind monoprints.
It was arranged by his son, Santa Monica resident David Boul, a longtime senior producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
